Born in Montreal, Canada, Celia has spent over 40 years mastering the art of photography. She got her first camera at the age of 16 and immediately set up a darkroom in her basement.
Celia studied fine Arts at both the Banff School of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada and Sir George Williams University in Montreal. She has attended classes and participated in workshops in both Montreal, Burlington, Vermont and Miami.
For Celia digital photography presented a unique opportunity to branch out into fine art photography. First she explored Infrared photography which forced her to look at the world around her in an entirely different way. She particularly likes the dream-like qualities imparted by the resulting images. From there she returned to her roots, black and white photography. In recent years, she has been experimenting with photoartistry which entails the use of digital technology to combine two or more images adding depth, texture and interest to create a truly original work of art.
Celia has been exhibiting in the CIAO Art Show & Sale since its creation. In 2010 she was Feature Artist and in the same year won the People’s Choice Award.
A resident of Grand Isle since 1993, she now splits her time between Montreal, Grand Isle and Miami, allowing her to enjoy an array of nature‘s treasures.
